Meme producers pulling all-nighter

In anticipation of tomorrow’s indictment of former president Donald Trump in connection with the yearslong investigation into a hush money scheme involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels, the nation’s meme makers are gearing up with an all-night brainstorming session tonight.

“We’re looking forward to one of the busiest days we’ve ever had,” said online content creator Donny Dunn. “The demand for amusing photos with snarky captions to spread widely online especially via social media is going to be, to borrow a phrase from the intended target; ‘Yuuuuuge’.”

“Hey guys, write that down!” he yelled to the colleagues gathered around a table covered with pizza boxes and coffee cups behind him in a conference room at MemeCo’s top secret headquarters somewhere in Florida.

“Obviously, most of the fresh, dank memes will come from pictures taken tomorrow but we’re trying to do as much prep work as possible,” he said. “We take this very seriously. Probably more seriously than Trump is taking it, honestly.”

On Saturday morning, Trump made the following statement on his site, Truth Social: “THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” causing concerns that there could be violent demonstrations similar to what took place at the United States Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.

“Fingers crossed,” said Dunn, who is considered something of a pioneer in the industry, having invented the Condescending Wonka meme in 2011. “I mean, obviously we don’t want to see anyone hurt or any property damaged but the possibility of getting another QAnon Shaman out of it is really exciting and probably worth it.”
