Football game ruins Creamsicle Day
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Detroit Lions today by a score of 20-6 at Raymond James Stadium in a game where the Buccaneers wore their throwback orange “creamsicle” uniforms, something fans have been looking forward to since the team announced the occasion earlier this summer.
“Everything this week has been so much fun,” said fan Carey Harry of Tampa. “All the retro highlights and music and nostalgia everywhere. And it’s always great to see good ol’ Bucco Bruce.”
“Why did they have to ruin it all by playing a shitty football game?”
“I loved seeing all the orange everywhere. Even the Truist Bank building was lit up orange! Everybody was so into it. It really brought the community together! They should do this every year,” said season ticket holder Carrie H’Arie. “Maybe end the week with a Smashmouth concert or something instead of a football game, though.”
At least one fan, Hal Callison of St. Petersburg, is glad it’s over and never wants the team to do this again.
“I’m not a fan,” he said. “I’m just tired of the word ‘creamsicle’.”
