Ohio Senator Has to Apologize Again
Just days after having to apologize for offhand remarks he made about a possible impending Civil War at a rally on Monday, Ohio Senator George Lang found himself in a similar unfortunate position earlier today.
On a campaign visit for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance in Tampa for the sake of making this article relevant to the Tampa Bay Region and not just the easy shot at some ultimately locally irrelevant politician who said something pretty stupid because we wanted to cash in that it obviously is, Lang was overheard complaining about how hungry he was.
“I’m afraid I’m very hungry and it’s going to take someone bringing me a sandwich to save me from being as hungry as I am, and I will be saved,” he said. “I’m the greatest experiment in the history of mankind, and if it comes down to someone getting me a sandwich, I’m glad we got people like Bikers for Trump and the group’s national president, Mark ‘Smitty’ Smith on my side because a man on a motorcycle can easily maneuver quickly through traffic to retrieve a sandwich for someone who is very, very hungry, like I am right now.”
Realizing that he’s already on shaky ground after the whole Civil War thing, he immediately apologized a few hours later.
“Remarks I made earlier today do not accurately reflect my views. I was not specifically saying Mark ‘Smitty’ Smith should go fetch me a sandwich; most women could have probably been able to do that simple task just as well as a man, maybe even better, even without a motorcycle. I regret the divisive remarks I made in the excitement of me being so extremely hungry,” he said. “The important thing is I got a sandwich and now I’m not that hungry anymore.”
