Cleaning Crews Still Removing Stink From Raymond James Stadium

A squad of cleaning people have been working around the clock since Tuesday morning in an effort to remove the noticeable stench left after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 41-31 to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.

“We’re making progress. It’s going to take a lot of work but we should be able to have everything spick-and-span again before kick-off on Sunday,” said janitorial supervisor Cliff Cleevers.

“I was driving down Dale Mabry and suddenly my eyes started watering, my skin was itching and I felt nauseated,” said Tampa’s Sheryl Montoya. “I looked to my left and realized I was going past the stadium.”

“This happens sometimes,” Cleevers said, as he zipped up his hazmat suit. “It’s not that it was a loss; that’s just part of sports. It’s all the things that went into that loss.”

The Buccaneers blew an early 10-point lead and watched the Ravens take control, scoring 34 unanswered points through the third quarter. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson would eventually throw five touchdown passes, completing 17 of 22 for 281 yards. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers lost star receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to injuries, with Godwin now finished for the season.

“For better or worse, we’ve been here before. We know what to do,” said Cleevers, before donning a gas mask. “We were out here all the time when Greg Schiano was the coach.”
