DeSantis Pop-up Bookshop Coming to Tampa Bay

A traveling book fair showcasing the published works of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is coming to the Tampa Bay Area.

“And by ‘showcasing’ we mean ‘featuring exclusively’,” said Glenda Weeberman-Poutz, a spokesperson for Despot Dominion Publishing, the company presenting the exhibition. “All of the books are written by him. All of them.”

“Each book is almost 19 pages long and features illustrations hand-drawn by the author,” she said. “Long enough to be informative and entertaining but not too long to distract the reader from getting back to work.”

The governor’s first book, “The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” was published in 2023 and can be purchased for anywhere from $4.69 to $35 from online retailers . These new books appear to be part of a series.

“There’s a wide variety to choose from but of course, we recommend that people buy all of them,” she added.

“All of these books would make great gifts,” she said. “Especially for school libraries that suddenly have plenty of extra shelf space to fill.”

People planning to visit the book fair to purchase books should look for the red pop-up tents in front of various Boost Mobile and Radiant Car Wash locations in the area on Saturday afternoons. Those attending for the purpose of heckling, protesting or otherwise making some kind of trouble should stay home and keep their goddamn mouths shut.
