GasBuddy Battered with Cat 5 Negative Feedback
GasBuddy, a technology company headquartered in Dallas that offers mobile applications and websites for tracking crowd-sourced locations and prices of gas stations and convenience stores in the United States and Canada, is facing an onslaught of negative criticism due to a number of factual errors about fuel availability in the Tampa Bay Area after Hurricane Milton last week.
“GasBuddy’s Fuel Availability Tracker is activated in Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton. Drivers can utilize the tracker to find gas stations with fuel and power in an emergency, and report fuel outages in their area.” – Post on GasBuddy app Facebook’s page
Reactions from disgruntled customers have been flying in at over 100mph since it was posted:
“Highly inaccurate. Many residents throughout central FL are reporting the app is not accurately tracking fuel outages.”
“Yeah thanks very cool, led me to the middle of nowhere with no gas and an almost empty tank”

“I went to 8 different stations that your app said they had gas when they didn’t”

“It’s going to take a lot to recover from this, if that’s even possible,” says verified gas station app and weather expert Andrew Garabello.
“It just illustrates how crucial it is to prepare in advance for tropical storms here in Florida,” he said. “A good step to take in that preparation is to not download and rely on shitty apps like this one.”
