Guy who never wears hats inundated with ads for hats

Hats

Robert Mitchell of Tampa is someone who doesn’t wear hats, yet all of his social media feeds are filled with advertising for hats for some reason.

“I understand how algorithms and targeted marketing works, but this doesn’t make any sense”, he said. “I think I probably own a hat or two but for practical purposes, I never wear hats.”

Upon saying the word ‘hat’ twice, three more ads appeared instantly in his Instagram feed.

“God damn it!”, he exclaimed.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to him.

“A couple of months ago, I was getting absolutely bombarded with mattress ads for some mysterious reason”, he said. “I wasn’t in the market for a mattress. I hadn’t talked to anyone about buying a mattress. I can’t even remember buying the mattress I have. I just don’t understand.”

Uttering the word ‘mattress’ so many times caused several mattress ads to suddenly show up on his Facebook timeline.

“Fuck!”
