Heckler Ruins TV Star Appearance
Glenn Howerton, an actor and one of the co-creators of the long-running sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, was in Tampa earlier this afternoon for a promotional appearance at Leukens Wine and Spirits on behalf of Four Walls Whiskey, a new Irish American Whiskey brand from Howerton and his co-stars Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, however his appearance was cut short due to the presence of an obnoxious heckler.
“Hey! Hey! Dennis Reynolds,” the heckler yelled. Howerton smiled and waved, acknowledging the name of the character he plays on the show.
“Day Man!” Ah ah ahhhh!!” the man yelled, referencing a song from the show’s third season. “The implication! Because of the implication! Rickety Cricket erk erk erk!”
Howerton chuckled and said, “Yes, the show’s been on a long time and we’ve had lots of great moments. Thanks for watching.”
“Hey Dennis, you banged that McPoyle chick,” the man yelled. “Ha ha! She’s ugly!”
“Okay, that’s a character played by Thesy Surface who’s very attractive in real life and I didn’t bang her”, said Howerton, beginning to lose his patience. “You know what? I’m here to talk about our new whiskey and sign some autographs, all right? Let’s stick to that.”
“Dennis is gay! Everybody knows it! Dennis is gay!”, the man shouted.
“Dennis isn’t gay! Mac is the character that’s gay, you idiot! Idiot!”, screamed Howerton. “You know what? Screw this.”
He then got up and left, leaving employees to break down the card table where he’d been seated to autograph whiskey bottles.
“Hey, thanks for coming, Dennis Reynolds, you beautiful, beautiful gazelle person,” the man yelled, as he picked up a six-pack of Hulk Hogan’s Real American beer and headed to a register. “Tim Murphy slept with your prom date!”
