Meteorologist Fails to Adequately Prepare Local Citizen

As a tropical storm continues to develop in the Gulf of Mexico today, Helene Schmecklinger of St. Petersburg is extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the level of information being disseminated by meteorologist Denis Phillips of WFTS (channel 28).

Among numerous social media posts every couple of hours, not to mention televised updates with the latest available information, Phillips posted this message on Facebook Sunday afternoon:

“Update. I STILL don’t know if your flight will be cancelled, your Disney trip will be ruined, your cruise will be scratched or you’ll be able to walk your dog at 4:23 Thursday afternoon.  But I promise,  when I figure it out you’ll be the first to know.”

“Well, that’s just great,” responded Schmecklinger sarcastically. “I happen to have a flight, a trip to Disney and a cruise scheduled later this week. And I don’t have a dog, but if I did, I would walk it every day at 4:23 every afternoon.”

”That was yesterday,” she said. “How long am I supposed to just sit around and wait for him to get back to me?”

“This is why you can’t trust the media,” she added. “They’re all a bunch of narcissists who only care about themselves.”
