Party City Announces New Career Paths for Associates

Earlier today, Party City, a party-supply retailer, announced plans to go out of business immediately, according to an announcement from CEO Barry Litwin.

The company, founded in 1986, has over 700 locations in North America, including locations in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Brandon, Lakeland, and Clearwater, effectively terminating the employment of dozens of local employees less than a week before Christmas.

”We aren’t looking at this as the end, but rather as a new beginning for our staff to seek opportunities and discover new passions in the exciting fields of thriving industries like seasonal costume sales, meal delivery, medical marijuana distribution, drone repair and car washing, among others,” said an unnamed and also suddenly unemployed company spokesperson. “Remember, when one door closes, another one opens! Except at Party City, where the doors aren’t going to open again, ever, at all.”
