Tampa Heights Woman Relies on Local Business for Political Advice

Brittany Hooper of Tampa Heights, who describes herself as passionate about social matters and political issues, has decided to follow the recommendations of Shuffle, a bar in her neighborhood, to influence her choices in this year’s election one week from today.

“I’m a busy person; I simply don’t have time to comb through a sample ballot and make decisions of my own,” she said. “This election is just too important for that.”

Asked why she chose Shuffle to guide her, she cited a number of factors.

“Well, I like Shuffle; it’s a chill place to hang out,” she said. “And they went to the trouble of posting a bunch of yard signs. Florida’s first and only indoor shuffleboard club wouldn’t do that if they didn’t think people like me should pay attention.”

“They have an American flag and that’s important to me because I consider myself a patriot,” she added.

As a result, she said she will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, Ben Braver and yes on Amendments 3 and 4 and the Hillsborough County millage referendum.

“I hope there isn’t anything else because I’ll probably have to leave those blank,” she said.
