Tampa Woman Puts Up Christmas Decorations Early

Carol Foozbahl of Tampa has broken with her own tradition of decorating her home for the holidays the day after Thanksgiving by doing it yesterday.

“I know it’s early. Halloween just ended but I’m stressed out by the hurricanes and the elections and just everything else,” she said. “The holidays make me happy and I just want a little happiness. If next year is as bad as this one, I’m going to start even earlier.”

Of course, any action taken by someone, regardless of how harmless and benign, has to bother someone else who feels obligated to respond by commenting on it.

“Sure, that’s fine but what about Thanksgiving? Did she put any thought into that? No. It’s very disrespectful to the brave pilgrims and native Americans who died for us,” said her next door neighbor Cathy Klanderstanden. “Not to mention she’s ignoring the Jews by not honoring Hanukkah, celebrating the birth of eight Santa Claus’s, not just one. Or Kwanzaa, which is African for Black People Christmas. Antisemitic much, Carol?”

“How about learning the true meaning of all the other holidays and honoring the sacrifices of the brave men who died making them possible,” she added.

“I think I’ll bake some cookies,” said Foozbahl, blissfully unaware of the scathing rebuke.
