War Memorial in Lutz Braced for Big Day

Dan Sordido, a representative of Lutz’s war memorial hall expects the attraction to be very busy with visitors today, since it is the annual observance of Memorial Day, the federal holiday dedicated to honoring the U.S military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces.

“God, I sure hope so. It’s been kind of a tough month,” he said, standing outside the facility that looks suspiciously like a furniture store.

“I strongly resent that! It’s not a furniture store; it’s a place where people can come and pay solemn respect to the dead troops and reflect on the sacrifices they made to preserve our precious freedoms,” he said. “And if they want to buy a mattress or a dinette set while they’re here, who am I to stand in the way of their pursuit of happiness via up to 40% off and a variety of easy financing options?”
