St. Pete man holds vigil for missing breakfast sandwiches

WaWa

Darren McVork of St. Petersburg is currently holding a candlelight vigil at the WaWa on 4th Street North for all the departed breakfast Sizzli Breakfast Sandwiches at that particular location.

“I walked in and saw that they were all gone. How? How could this happen?!?”, he said. “In this day and age, it shouldn’t be possible. Where are we as a society if we allow something like this to happen? It’s an outrage. It’s nothing short of a tragedy because I’m hungry and this is the last day of the current 2-for-$4 sales promotion.”

“Yeah, we were pretty busy this morning”, said Kendra Gleeters, a WaWa associate. “We’re making more now. Should be out in a jif.”

“This vigil is to honor those sandwiches that are no longer with us as well as those to come. People are looking at me strangely, wondering how long I’m willing to stand here in the middle of a WaWa while holding a lit candle. Well, I am dedicated. When I find a cause I believe in strongly, I commit to it! So I’m in this for as long as it takes and I will not leave until the supply is replenished, allowing me to get the two Applewood Smoked Bacon, Egg & Cheese sandwiches I came here for”, said McVork as his vigil entered it’s 4th minute.
