DeSantis has new favorite comic strip

Gov Dilbert

Florida governor Ron DeSantis recently discovered the syndicated comic strip ‘Dilbert’, and it has immediately become his favorite.

“It’s just so funny! Look at him, with his tie flipping upward. Whose tie does that? Not mine, that’s for sure. Dilbert’s, that’s who! Ha ha ha!” he said, reiterating that he thinks the strip is funny.

“Funny!” he said.

‘Dilbert’, written and illustrated by Scott Adams, was first published in 1989 and chronicles the workplace misadventures of the title character. It’s known for satirical office humor and has spawned several books, an animated television series, a video game, and hundreds of themed merchandise items.

“He’s got a Pointy-Haired Boss who’s a real pain-in-the-butt. I had a boss like that in the Navy and I can tell you from first-hand experience, that is something. Woo wee! He also has his crazy friends Wally and Alice. And don’t forget Catbert and Dogbert; they have ‘bert’ in their names, just like Dilbert!” said DeSantis. “Dogbert is a dog that wears glasses… and he talks! Hoo ha ha hee hee hoo!”

‘Dilbert’ was recently removed from most American daily newspapers due to racist comments made by Adams on a YouTube livestream.

“I know; that’s how I heard about it and why I checked it out,” said DeSantis. “Honestly, it’s the funniest thing since ‘Cathy’ went off the air, except as far as I know, Cathy Guisewite who created that one never accused Black people of being ‘a hate group’ or advised white people to ‘get the hell away’ from them, so… ACK! to her.”

DeSantis passed legislation to immediately add all 46 ‘Dilbert’ books to every public school library throughout the state.

“Plenty of room on those shelves since we, um, ‘vetted’ all the problematic books,” he said.

“So you’re telling me we’ll have copies of ‘Fugitive from the Cubicle Police’ available to check out, but not ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’?!? Heaven help us,” said Tia Colom, a librarian in the Pinellas County School System who suddenly remembered that she could be fired or worse for stating a dissenting opinion regarding the current state regime. “Umm, I mean, that’s great. Dilbert. Yay.”

Reached for comment, former President Donald Trump said, “Dilbert is a dweeb, just like DeSantis. In fact, I would call him ‘Ron Dilbertis’, but I love that comic strip too.”
