Rick Scott wants you to know that he is somewhat pro-poor people in certain situations that benefit him

Florida Senator Rick Scott, who opposes raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, against the stated desires of 60% of his constituents, and is also against repealing the Trump tax cuts that will add $2 trillion to the nation’s deficit, says he empathizes with poor people, like his own mother who he says “struggled to put food on the table” due to inflation.

“You have to feel sorry for poor people … their wages are not staying up with this inflation”, he said. “I mean, I don’t but somebody should. Like you. You should do that. But not me. Not my thing. Like, at all. Ha ha ha! Come on, man! Have you met me?”
