Tampa City Councilman Charlie Miranda seeks bargains for upcoming budget
Councilman Charlie Miranda was observed perusing a coupon flyer from Publix during Wednesday’s annual budget presentation meeting of the Tampa City Council.
Cory Weckerle, speaking on behalf of Black Lives Matter, was addressing the council meeting which was held on-line. During his remarks, Weckerle said, “…if you have the political will and we have the frame of reference for new ideas, we should be working together to embrace the abnormality that our lives have become. Maya Angelou reminded us that if you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be. This city needs to work together with the community organizers and the community itself so that we can all be amazing together.”
As Weckerle spoke, councilman Miranda saved $1.00 off the purchase of one (1) GreenWise fresh turkey parts (valued at $10 or more) as well as $1.00 on any two (2) Family Size NABISCO Cookie or Cracker Products (6.5 – 25.6 oz.).
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hear what the young man was talking about”, said Miranda. “It’s a budget meeting. I thought we were supposed to be saving money.”
