Coach Bowles makes it a little harder for Bucs fans to hate him
Following a 9-0 defeat of the Carolina Panthers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under head coach Todd Bowles have clinched the NFC South Division for the third consecutive season and will host a playoff game next weekend.
“I knew it; Bowles sucks and needs to be… wait, what?” said diehard Buccaneers fan Mike Dikter of Tampa. “How is that possible? Weren’t we just 4-7 like a week ago?”
The team is 5-1 since the beginning of December, finishing the season with a 9-8 record.
“That is a pretty impressive stretch run. You can’t ask for much more than that,” said St. Petersburg resident Barry Swipzer, another dedicated supporter. “Then again, that loss to New Orleans was terrible and we didn’t even score a touchdown against what might be the worst team in the league today. Should he be replaced? I… I just don’t know.”
“Let’s be honest, they’re a mediocre-at-best team that finished first in the weakest division in the NFL, meaning some other, more-deserving team is going to miss out,” chimed in Bill Cherlibeek of Clearwater.
“Man, I’m a Florida State fan; you really don’t want to know what I think about it,” he added.
