The term ‘Woke’ is defined as “alert to injustice in society, especially racism.” You hear it a lot these days. It’s often used as a sarcastic insult, directed at certain people deemed by other certain people as being overly sensitive and/or disingenuous about expressing their ideals. As such, being Woke can be either good or bad, depending on how it’s being used. It’s better to be alert to social injustice than to ignore it, but being seen as an attention-seeking phony pain-in-the-ass isn’t a compliment. What if you don’t know if you’re Woke or not? What if you’re not and you want to be? What if you are and you don’t want to be?? How should you respond if someone says you are?
