Tampa man stabbed for saying it’s cold
Travis Glickle of Tampa is in the hospital after being stabbed for commenting on the cool and mild local temperature this morning.
“I just knew I would encounter someone who was going to make a stupid joke about how it’s ‘freezing’ out,” said the confessed assailant, Julie Fweet. “After the downright miserable summer we’ve had, I just wasn’t in the mood to hear somebody try to be funny about it. I told my friend Danielle that if it happened, I would stab somebody.”
Fweet and her friend were eating breakfast at Trip’s Diner on Florida Avenue when Glickle entered, pantomimed being very, very cold and looked around smiling, pleased by his own cleverness. That’s when Fweet picked up a spoon and attacked him.
“I didn’t even say anything. All I said was ‘brrr’ and shivered and blew into my hands,” he said from St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he’s currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries. “Next thing I know, this psycho is just on me!”
“I had to do it,” said Fweet. “I said I would.”
“I was kidding! I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt,” said Glickle. “It wasn’t like I had on a parka and mittens.”
“I would have cut his head off,” responded Fweet.
Tampa Police was summoned and officers questioned her briefly but ultimately took no action, deeming the attack justified.
