Straz releases updated list of prohibited items prior to Beetlejuice opening

In anticipation of the grand opening of the touring production of the hit musical “Beetlejuice” at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts tomorrow night, the theatre has announced an updated list of items that will not be permitted, tailored to this particular production:

  • Weapons of any kind, including firearms, pocket/utility knives or cutting instruments
  • Getting a little bit carried away
  • Video cameras (unless authorized)
  • Handjobs
  • Professional photography and/or camera equipment (unless authorized)
  • Tripods or monopods
  • Smoking implements of any kind, including vape products
  • Any type of portable chair, seat, or seat cushions other than those approved for persons with accessibility needs
  • Anybody sexually aroused by fictional characters like Beetlejuice
  • Food or beverages, unless purchased at the Straz Center
  • Coolers or containers, including cans and bottles
  • Elected officials lacking the ability to behave in public
  • Illegal drugs or substances
  • Animals, other than service dogs, including howler monkeys or acting like one
  • Strollers or baby seats
  • Flag poles
  • Fireworks, pyrotechnics, flares or incendiary devices
  • Human garbage
  • Laser pointers
  • Segways, skateboards or similar items
  • Blowing smoke of any kind into pregnant women’s faces
  • Noisemakers, bullhorns, air horns or vuvuzelas
  • Helium balloons, beach balls or similar items
